220 <br /> <br /> Ms. Mitzi Forbes, 155 W. Main Street advised the Council of <br /> the danger which exists at the corner of Monroe and Main Streets <br /> during a roadblock. Ms. Forbes stated that the corner is not wide <br /> enough to handle semi truck traffic during a roadblock, people in <br /> the street are in danger when a semi-truck tries to make a turn. <br /> The Council took this situation under advisement and will discuss <br /> alternative solutions to this problem at a future Council meeting. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Mooresville <br /> Town Council at this time, motion to adjourn was made by Councilman <br /> Heald, second by Councilman Edwards. No members were absent. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Austin Boles, 450 Tulip Drive, Mooresville, appeared before <br /> the Council requesting the speed limit in Marley Wood be reduced to <br /> 20mph. <br /> <br /> Council President Overholser advised Mr. Boles that she would <br /> discuss this matter with the Street Superintendent Joe Beikman and <br /> advise Mr. Boles of the decision. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Viles, second by Councilman <br /> Heald to approve a roadblock for the Mooresville Junior Basketball <br /> Metro Pioneers on June 11, 1994 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Motion <br /> carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> The Council discussed the possibility of creating guidelines for <br /> future roadblocks. <br /> <br /> Council President Overholser appointed Councilman Viles and <br /> Councilman Ballard to a committee to create guidelines for future <br /> roadblocks. President Overholser requested this committee bring their <br /> recommendations to the Council at the July 5, 1994 meeting. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald, second by Councilman Ballard <br /> to release $14,184.00 from Caperton's Roberson Village Escrow <br /> Account and $17,428.00 from Caperton's Roberwon Woods Escrow Account. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Edwards, second by Councilman Viles <br /> to approve swimming pool exemptions for the following sewer customers: <br /> Sheila Swinney, 110 Carter Street, Angela Burnett, 14 Maryvale Court, <br /> Margelyn Williams, 92 Crestwood Drive, Charles E. Gray, 10 Fairwood Ct.. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> It was reported that the animal control officer received <br /> twenty-four (24) calls and impounded four (4) animals. <br /> <br /> <br />
