Motion carried 3-2 with Council members <br /> Edwards, Heald, and Overholser voting in favor, Council members <br /> Viles and Ballard voting against. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald, second by Councilman <br /> Ballard to adopt Ordinance #7-1994 An Ordinance Rezoning <br /> Real Property Within the Town of Mooresville Upon the Application <br /> of Oliver Richard Prescott, Jr. and Ruth Ann Prescott. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council held a public hearing to amend <br /> Ordinance #16-1984 the Sewer Rate Ordinance for the Town of <br /> Mooresville. <br /> <br /> No remonstrators were present at the public hearing for the <br /> amendment of Ordinance #16-1984. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Viles, second by Councilman <br /> Ballard to adopt Ordinance #8-1994 An Ordinance Amending Ordinance <br /> #16-1984 Establishing Schedule of Rates and Charges to be Collected <br /> by the Town of Mooresville from Owners of Property Served by the <br /> Sewage Works of the Civil Town of Mooresville. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Councilman Heald announced the retirement of Chief Marshall <br /> George Ditton effective September 1, 1994. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald, second by Councilman Ballard <br /> to accept resumes for the position of Mooresville Chief Marshall <br /> until 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 1994 at the Mooresville Clerk's <br /> office. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Councilman Viles distributed a list of guidelines for <br /> Mooresville Roadblocks to be reviewed by the Council and discussed <br /> at the July 5, 1994 Council meeting. <br /> <br /> Council President Overholser advised the Council she has <br /> received a letter from Mr. Glenn Blackwell in regard to the properties <br /> located at 144 E. Main Street and 146 E. Main Street. These <br /> properties are vacant and are presently not being maintained. <br /> Town attorney Tim Currens will investigate this situation. <br /> <br /> The Council was advised that the Mooresville Plan Commission <br /> appointed a technical review committee to review the filings to <br /> come before the Plan Commission to insure that each petition is in <br /> compliance with the town zoning ordinance. This committee will <br /> meet monthly prior to the Plan Commission meeting to accomplish <br /> this task. The members of this committee are Charles McGuire <br /> and Bill Abbott. Motion was made by Councilman Heald, second by <br /> Councilman Viles to compensate the Plan Commission Technical Review <br /> Committee $20.00 per committee meeting. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported he received nineteen <br /> (19) calls, impounded six (6) animals and returned five (5) animals <br /> to their owners. <br /> <br /> President Overholser requested town attorney Currens <br /> Council <br /> develop a format for interviewing prospective Chief Marshall <br /> candidates. President Overholser appointed Councilman Heald, Council- <br /> woman Overholser, Chief Ditton and Town attorney Currens to a <br /> committee to review applications for the position of Chief Marshall. <br /> This committee will meet Wednesday, June 29, 1994 at 6:30 p.m. at the <br /> offices of Harris and Currens. <br /> <br /> <br />
