234 <br /> September 20, 1994 <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session Tuesday, <br /> September 20, 1994 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Steve Edwards, Dick Heald, <br /> Tim Viles, Steve Ballard and Pat Overholser. No members were absent. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br /> The following bid for the northside sewer rehabilitation project <br /> was opened: <br /> <br /> Mitchell & Starke Construction $608,348.27 '~ <br /> The Council will take the bid under advisement and will act <br /> on it at the October 4, 1994 Town Council meeting. <br /> <br /> Ms. Tara Crusenberry of Mooresville High School appeared <br /> before the Council requesting permission to hold a mock car <br /> accident at the 4-way stop at Indiana Street and Carlisle Street <br /> on Tuesday, October 25, 1994. <br /> <br /> Councilman Viles stated that it would be better if they held <br /> the event on Carlisle Street next to the tennis courts. <br /> <br /> Council President Overholser recommended that Ms. Crusenberry <br /> meet with Police Chief Viles and Fire Chief Brown to work out the <br /> details of this project. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald, second by Councilman <br /> Ballard to approve a mock roadblock to be held on Carlisle Street <br /> on Tuesday, October 25, 1994 contingent on all the details of the <br /> event being worked out with Police Chief Viles and Fire Chief Brown. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ross Holloway appeared before the Council requesting the <br /> rezone for property which is described as part of the SW/4 of <br /> the NE/4 of section 25, T14N R1E said property is located on q <br /> Indianapolis Road in the Town of Mooresville. The request which was <br /> approved by the Mooresville Plan Commission was to rezone said <br /> parcel from AG to PUD-R. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Edwards, second by Councilman <br /> Heald to approve Ordinance #16-1994 An Ordinance to Rezone Property <br /> on Indianapolis Road from AG to PUD-R. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Viles, second by Councilman <br /> Ballard to approve Ordinance #15-1994 An Ordinance to Rezone <br /> Property Within the Town of Mooresville Upon the Application of <br /> the First United Methodist Church from AG to R-1. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Mr. Carlton Waite of HNTB appeared before the Council to inform <br /> them that HNTB recommends the Town award the southside sewer extension <br /> bid to Titan Contracting, Inc. contingent upon the Town obtaining <br /> the necessary easements for this project and the plan revisions being <br /> approved. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Edwards, second by Councilman <br /> Ballard to award the bid for the southside sewer extension to Titan <br /> Contracting, Inc. contingent upon the Town obtaining the necessary <br /> easements for this project and the approval of the plan revisions. ~ <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald, second by Councilman <br /> Edwards to approve a contract with HNTB in the amount of $10,500.00 <br /> to cover Pre-Construction Related services and construction related <br /> services for the southside sewer project. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported he had twenty-seven <br /> (27) calls, seven (7) impounded, two (2) animals returned to their owners. <br /> <br /> <br />
