M. <br /> <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br /> Clerk-Treasurer ~ <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Comtcil met in special session on Tuesday, August 12, 1997, at 7:00 P. M. <br /> at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council ~nembers present were: President Mark Mallfis, Vice-President Andy Py~uan, Jim <br /> ttensley, and Bill Wright. Councilman Toby Dolen was absent. <br /> <br /> Jolm Mills of the Morgan County Council addressed rite Council concerning thc West Central <br /> Solid Waste District in Indiana. Tltis pO'oup was formed in 1991. Mr. Mills stated he thought <br /> Mooresville could set up a site, consisting of two bins, next lo the street garage. Itc thought <br /> · possibly file Utility Depamnent crew could check the area daily to keep the area clean. Mr. Mills <br /> would like for the Town Council to ctmsider tiffs idea. The Council decided to have Street <br /> Cotmnissioner Joe Beikman to check into tlfis. The Council v~511 discuss at the ne.ct meeting on <br /> Tuesday, August 19, 199'/. <br /> <br /> Next, Ken Fisher of Southb~dge Crosshug asked the Council ff the project could be split up into <br /> segments mtd looked at individually as far as tinanccs. The water line to file project would provide <br /> needed fire hydrants and one existing business wants to hook on for much needed drinidng water. <br /> The line has to be bored under the Railroad also. The estimated cost of this installation is <br /> approximately $45,000.00. Town Attorney Tim Currens stated he thought tiffs would still have to <br /> · be bid. Econonfic Director Harold Gutzwiller read a letter from United Water Company stating <br /> the Town of Mooresville would receive the revenue from each hook on for up to ten years ff the <br /> Town paid for the line. <br /> <br /> Ken Fisher also stated the sewer manholes needed to be extended up twelve (12) feet because of <br /> the twelve feet of fill. The estimated cost of this piece of rite project is $15,000.00. If these <br /> extensions are not completed the manholes would be twenty (20) feet down fi'om the surface after <br /> the fill is in place. <br /> <br /> · President Mark Iv~this told the Council he wanted to see if the money from the Food and <br /> Beverage Fund could be loaned. Town Attorney Tim Currens is checking on tlfis. <br /> <br /> After much discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Cotmcilman <br /> Hensley to approve up to $45,000.00 for installation of a water line down Park Street past G. R. <br /> Wood and Majestic Block and under fl~e railroad to Southbridge Crossing utilizing the rebate <br /> agreement wiflt United Water Company. Motion carried 3-1. Councilman Pygman opposed. <br /> <br /> There being no fm'ther business to crone before the Council at this time a motion was made <br /> · Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Wright to adjom:n the meeting.
