Pe~ry, Clerk-Treasurer <br /> <br /> ' The Moorcsville Town Council ~net in a regular scheduled meeting on Tuesday, June 17, 1997 at <br /> 7:30 P. M. at the Moores~ille Town Ilall. <br /> <br /> Council me~nbers present were President Mark Matlfis, Vice-President Andy Pygman, Jhn <br /> Hensley and Toby Dolen. Councilman Bill Wright was absent. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen to approve <br /> the minutes of the June 3, 1997 meeting. Motion carried 5-0. ~/q-DJ* ~ <br /> <br /> Dan Clark of Independent Appraisals appeared before the Council to speak about building <br /> appraisals. He stated if the Town of Mooresville went a second year without an appraisal they <br /> would not be able to appraise for us, the Town needed to have an appraisal every year. Hadley, <br /> Cook, and Quillen reconunended thek company and the price is $75.00 per hour plus expenses. <br /> In 1995 the total cost for the appraisal was $1,000.00. After a discussion a motion was made by <br /> Councilman Hensley, second by Councihnan Dolcn to have Independent Appraisals do the <br /> appraising on the Town Bttildings. Motion carried 3-1 with Councilman Pygman opposing. <br /> <br /> Jesse Hughes updated the Town of Mooresville on the Brookmore Sewers. Itis question was: <br /> Who is responsible for the installation and funding of the sewer system? The total cost for this <br /> project has been quoted at $878,570.00. Brookmore has qualified for the Community Focus Fund <br /> Grant ($500,000.00) but lmsn't received thc monies. State Representative Boehning is working on <br /> $ 75,000.00 through Build Indiana Funds. EDC Director Harold Gutzwiller informed the Town <br /> Council a Town or City could apply for the CEF Grant, but if the County is applying for another <br /> CEF Grant at the present time they cam~ot apply for another. Mrs. Tamter stated Brookmore <br /> would have to be annexed for the Town to apply for a CEF Grant. Then a sixty (60) day <br /> remonstrance period, at least, before the Town Council could think of voting on annexation. <br /> Town Council President Mark Matlfis infmmed the gS'oup from Brookmore that om' legal counsel <br /> (Attorney Tim Currens) was absent and he would need to be consulted as to what could be done <br /> next. Also, for Jesse Hughes to contact Mt'. Gutzwiller on Wednesday to see if the county had <br /> already applied for a CEF Grant then the Council would have to go from this answer forward to <br /> · see what could be done. Building Inspector Joe Beikman explained each resident hooking on to <br /> the sewer would need to pay $900.00 plus their lateral expense~ ~.__.) <br /> <br /> h~ other business the Police Co~mnission will have a meeting on Thursday, June 19, 1997 to select <br /> a new police patrolman. <br /> <br /> Fke Chief Les Farmer announced the Fke Safety House has re'rived and Captain Doug Allen has <br /> been named the Assistant Fire Clfief. Ite will be responsible for the training officer position also. <br /> He will begin this position on Monday, Jul3' 7, 1997. <br /> <br /> EDC Director Harold Gutzwillcr a~mounced thc Citizen's Conunittce on Taxes has started having <br /> meetings about our State's Tax Structure. <br /> <br /> <br />
