Motion was made by Councihnan ttcnsley, second by Councihnan Dolen to approve Ordinance <br /> /t8, 1997 for annexation of the Michelle Cravens property into the Town of Mooresville. Motion <br /> carried unatfimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councihnan Wright to approve Ordinance <br /> #9, 1997, an amendment to a prior Ordinance of am~exation of the Bothwell property on Jolmson <br /> Road. Motion carded unanhnously. <br /> <br /> Fire Clfief Les Farmer spoke to the Council about lhe vacant Assistant Fh'e Chief's position. After <br /> much discussion, Councilman Hensley stated he would prefer the Fke Chief to post the position as <br /> an Assistant Fire Chief first, then if no one responded to the advertisement to post the position as a <br /> Training Officer/Public Education Officer and see if any responses were forthcoming. The Fke <br /> <br /> Chief also stated he would like his Commissioner, Andy pyo~nan, and one other Town Council <br /> member to sit in on the interviews. The Council agl'eed. <br /> In the absence of the Anhnal Control Officer Mark Taylor, Councihnan Dolen gave the report: <br /> twenty-one (21) calls, eight (8) impounds, and four (4) returned. <br /> Street Commissioner Joe Beilanan announced the Town of Mooresville had already received re- <br /> imbursement for the repair bills the Town paid for the Grace Church on the comer of East <br /> Harrison and South Indiana Street. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councihnan Wright to approve the payment <br /> of the bills. Motion carded unani~nously. <br /> There being no further business to cotne before the Council at this time motion was made by <br /> Councilman Dolen, second by Councihnan Hensley to adjourn the meeting. Motion carded <br /> unanimously. <br /> <br />· The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooreswille Town Council will be Tuesday, June 3, <br /> 1997 at 7:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Itall ..... <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Cotmcil met in regular session on Tuesday, June 3, 1997 at 7:30 P. M. at <br /> the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> Council members present were: President Mark Mathis, Vice-President Andy Pygman, Bill <br /> Wright, Jim Hensley, and Toby Dolen. No Council members were absent. <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Wright to approve the minutes <br /> of the May 20, 1997 meeting. Motion carded 5-0. <br /> <br /> Paving bids were opened and were as follows: <br /> Wallace Construction $ 97,994.91 <br /> Milestone Paving $ 95,604.40 <br /> Grady Brothers $120,552.30 <br /> Reith-Reilly $ 139,693.50 <br /> E & B Paving $124,500.00 <br /> <br /> Street Superintendent Joe Beikman suggested taking the bids under advisement until the next <br /> meeting. Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen to award the <br /> contract to the lowest bid of Sninety five thousand six hundred four dollars and forty cents <br />· ($95,604.40) to Milestone Paving subject to Milestone showing certificate of insurance and <br /> bonding.
