M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were · President Mark Mathis, Toby Dolcn, Bill Wright. :md <br /> Pygman. Councilman Jim Hensley was absent. <br /> <br /> The Council decided to defer the approval of the minutes to the next meeting <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Wright, second by Councilman Pygman to amend linc .'-;:,l[~t <br /> Ordinance for 1998 to $500.00 for Police Clothing Allowance. Motion carded 4-0. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Pygrnan, second by Councihnan W,'ight to apl, ovc <br /> encumbrance of $8200.00 for Fire Department for physicals. Motion carried 4-0 <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Pygman, second by Councihnan Dolcn to aplnoVc thc <br /> Department encumbering $4000.00 for new pagers. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> <br /> Fire Chief, Les Farmer explained to the Council his men were interested in begimfing a <br /> of offering fire detectors and batteries to residents and $1000.00 was needed to get thc Program <br /> started. They were in the process of getting donations from Businesses. This prot.'.tan* x,~l,I <br /> from now to Christmas. The Council agreed the program ,,vas worthwhile. <br /> <br /> Dan Tingle, Superintendent of the Wastewatcr Treatment I'lant told thc Council thc <br /> heater was old and was broken down. This heater was installed in 1975. The projected cost <br /> heater was $182,850.00. Town attorney Tim Currens informed the Council Food and itcvera?, <br /> money could be used on this project since there ,,vas not enough money available in tl~o <br /> Improvement Fund.
