The Mooresvi!le Town Board of Trustees met in special session on Tuesday, June 27, 1989 at 7:00p.m. at Town Hall. Trustees present were Dick Hea!d, Pat Overho!ser, Steve Edwards, Jack Forbes and Mike Fiscus. Tim Holmes of Raffensburger and Hughes and Collette Irwin- Knott of Umbaugh & Associates appeared before the board to explain the process and the savings in refinancing the 1984 Sewage Works Bond and paying of~ the 1959 Sewage Work~ Bond. - - Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee Edwards to adopt a resolution to accept the purchase contract with Raffensburger and Hughes for the 1959 and 1984 Sewage Works Bonds. Motion carried. Motion was made by Trustee Edwards and second by Trustee Overholser to adopt a resolution to accept the purchase contract with Raffensburger & Hughes for the 1989 Sewage Works Refunding Revenue Bonds. Motion carried. Motion was made by Trustee Edwards and second by Trustee Hea!d to approve the first reading of Ordinance #10, 1989 and ordinance amending Ordinance #7, 1989 Adopting the Indiana Fire Prevention Code for Portable Fire Extinguishers Ordinance. Motion carried. ' The board discussed the 1989 budgets and asked the depart- ment heads which were present to cut the budgets that had been submitted to reflect a 5% overall increase. The board decided to try to maintain the MVH budget to fund sidewalk construction instead of bonding or adding an additional tax levy for the sidewalk construction project. The board decided to try to ~ontract the janitorial service for Tov~ Hall with specifications for the bid to be prepared by mid July. Motion was made by Trustee Overholser and second by Trustee Edwards to have the Utility Department be responsible for maintaining animal control in Mooresvi!le as of January 1, 1990, therefore making it possible to cut line item 1-117 from the 1990 Town Hall Budget. Motion carried. In the absence of Police Chief Ditton the board cut the proposed police budget from $662,374.00 to $558,639.00. The board decided to allow $6,000.00 for the lease of a vehicle for the Economic Development Director in the 1990 budget. Motion was made by Trustee Edwards and second by Trustee Heald to increase the total payroll by 5% and divide that amount among all town employees which are eligible for longevity pay. This amounts to an increase of $1007.00 per year per eligible employee. Motion carried. There being no further business to come before the Moores- ville Town Board of Trustees at this time motion to adjourn was made by Trustee Heald, second by Trustee Overholser. Motion carried.
