October 12, 1989 <br /> <br /> The Mooresville Town Council met in executive session Thursday, October <br /> 12, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Dick Heald, Pat Overholser, Jack Forbes <br /> and Steve Edwards. No m~mbers were absent. <br /> <br /> The council met with Fire Chief Jim Bruner in regard to fire department <br /> personnel policy. <br /> <br /> President <br /> <br /> A%TEST: <br /> <br /> Clerk/Treasurer ~ <br /> <br /> October 17, 1989 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council was held T~esday, <br /> October 17, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council nmmbers present were Dick Heald, Pat Overholser, Jack Forbes and <br /> Steve Edwards. No Councilmembers were absent. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br /> Members of the M~oresville Fire Department appeared before the Council <br /> to discuss the scheduling problems in the fire department. Currently <br /> fir~m~n are working an excessive amount of overtin~ each pay period. This <br /> practice has made it necessary for the town to pay the fire fighters back <br /> overtime pay. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser and second by Councilman <br />Forbes to terminate the amendment to the town personnel policy dated <br />Nov~nber 1986 which allows firefighters to be compensated at time and a <br />l~alf for all hours over 80 hours wacked in a pay period. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Economic Development Director Randy Haymaker advised the Council that the <br />Mooresville P~vitalization Oa~m[ttee has offered to donate $3500.00 to the <br />town to help defray the cost of replacing the sidewalks on the south and <br />west side of the Paul Hadley Memorial. <br /> <br /> Town Engineer Bill Abbott, advised the Council that improving Mathew <br />Street would not be in the best interest of the town. Mr. Abbott therefore <br />reco~anended Mathew Street to Be-~aCated asa public way. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Forbes and second by Councilwoman Overholser <br />to re-appoint Ronald Yates to the Mooresville Public Library Board from <br />January 1, 1990 to December 31, 1992. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilman Forbes to <br /> pay <br />the bills and claims. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Mooresville Town Council <br />at this time motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Forbes, second by <br />Councilwoman Overholser.
